It is my ever-expanding opinion that the nouveau riche are completely retarded, at least around Atlanta. Example: I’m at the Y, and I’ve just exercised and showered. I’m blowdrying my hair with my headphones in…. and what are they plugged into? A CD player. You know, that ancient piece of equipment that plays those silvery flat discs. Those women think I can’t see them through all my hair, but surprise!! I can. They stare at my CD player with looks of – and I’m not exaggerating – disgust. Not disdain, not mockery, not even confusion, per se. Just this disgusted expression, as if I’ve brought in a dissected frog and slapped it down beside the sink.

Three different women had this same reaction. I just smiled secretly beneath all my wet hair and laughed at them in my mind. Silly spoiled richies.
